3 or 4 or 5 weeks ago, maybe longer, I bought an Oatmeal Stout recipe. Got home, stuck the grains in zip-lock bags and put them in the freezer. So do ya think they are still useful or not?

All right! I don't remember if I bought these grains July 2 or July 9, but they were crushed the day I bought them, as I expected to use them on Saturday or Sunday. That Sunday evening, I put them in zip-lock bags and threw them in the freezer. I used them today. Expected OG was 1.055, I got 1.056. I know my hydrometer has a greater margin of error than that, but I'm still pretty jazzed that everything worked out so well. It was a good brew day. It rained for the last 5 minutes of my boil and my son held the umbrella over the brewpot for me while I was doing things like getting the ice and stuff. It only rained for about 10 minutes, so the rest of the procedure went fine. Oatmeal Stout, yeah!!!

It has been a while since I made a stout. The last one I made was a double chocolate stout and it ended up staying in the fridge for nearly a year. So I made this one up Saturday and went over to a friend's house where I got a request for a Sheaf Stout clone. I will have to give that some research, I think, if I can find any Sheaf Stout around here, that is.
:D

I've never been able to find any place in the States that has Sheaf Stout - 'cuz I've always wanted to try it.

They used to carry it at the HEB out here in Bastrop, but I have not seen it in a year or so. Mebbe I should have bought more of it?
Hey, Fret, if I can't find it down here, I may have to hit you up for a trade!
