Bottle conditioned ale in brown bottle.
Alcohol: 6.4% abv.
Size: 1 pt .9 US fl oz
Best before date: Nov 2004
Nose is a fruity plum and malt blend with alcohol just peeking through.
Taste is a biscuity malt with a nice fruity English ester character. Resolves to a chewy caramel after taste. When first opened has a little carbonation sharpness that mellows as it warms.
Appearance(with a careful pour) is a beautiful clear copper orange color with a nice thick head that quickly falls to a white ring that lasts all the way to the bottom of the glass.
Maybe my favorite English ale overall. This is a great drinker for me that I only have intermittantly. Smooth......

i agree, i think this is a great bca from England. sometime i want to get it, fullers 1845 and monkman's slaughter together for a strong english ale tasting.
i remember this beer being very fruity, with an almost salty, seaside characteristic. Very well balanced between malt and hops, and very subtle. i had it once with some korean short ribs and it was awesome.

A favorite of mine as well. My local always keeps this in the cooler and I tend to pick it up in cool weather - such as August in Chicago.
I don't think I should have started talking Oktoberfest, it feels like October here these days!

S. more coming your way, Steve, it's 50ºF here now, today's high up here is expected to be 62ºF, shattering the record low-high temp... my wife turned the furnace on this morning... :(

Fast Eddy:
If that cold front hits you tomorrow it should bring the temps down a bit. The high here, on the northern end of the state today was 78. Supposed to get down close to 60 tonight. But all of that is forecasted to change come the morrow!
