Hey Guys,

I am leaving for Seattle on Sunday for a 5 day business trip. Are there any good brewpubs that I should be visiting? Any beer recommendations that I should try?

Cheers!

I'm no expert as I'm on the opposite coast, but here's a decent list to start with:

I have heard some nice things about Elysian Brewing (brewpub) - seem to do some Belgian styles well. Have fun!

Cheers!

Seattle is one of the absolute best beer towns on the planet, and I'm quite knowledgeable about the area. Let me know what part of town you'll be around and I can really fill you in. There's a ton of great brewpubs in the area - Pyramid's Alehouse, Pike Brewing, Hale's Ales, Big Time, Maritime Pacific, just to name a few. Seattle is also well known for its quality and quantity of alehouses. Every district in the city has a great beer bar that features the best beers that the Pacific Northwest has to offer. There's also an outstanding retail store called Bottleworks that has tons of good stuff for purchase.

Thanks for the help!

I am staying at the Watertown hotel at 4242 Roosevelt Way NE. The one brewpub I have found is the Big Time Brewery and Ale house. It seems to be the closest 1/3 of a mile.

Cheers

Doug123 asked a similar question. (http://www.realbeer.com/discussions/showthread.php?s=&threadid=4301) Maybe this can help a bit, too.

The university district isn't too far from most of the good brewpubs, Big Time being one of them. They always have several brews on tap, and usually one cask conditioned ale. You're about three miles from Pyramid's Alehouse, Pike Brewing Company, the Hilltop Alehouse, Hale's Ales Brewpub, McMennamins, Elysian, and Maritime Pacific - each being in a different direction. Big Time is the easy choice, but if you're inclined to travel I'd hit Pike first, then the rest. Or if you're out looking for some very fresh seafood head over to Ray's Boathouse. They have a solid lineup of Pacific Northwest drafts.
