beer tasting classes?

hi all

new to the boards, will be moving back to DC in the beginning in september, and wondering if there are any beer tasting/appreciation classes being held in the DC area this fall. I'm a bit of a beer nerd (I waitered at the Brickskeller last summer), but I'm not very good at describing flavors, and I'd like to get better.

As are Theakston and MeridianFC! Lots of good beer knowledge in the DC area.

Too bad you missed the Smithsonian series this summer. They take a different brewer each week and do a tasting/info session. There are posts on it around here somewhere.

Anyhow, Yeah you missed a good series at RFD. There should be another next Summer. There will be plenty of other events before that though. Best thing to do is get on RFD / Brikskeller mailing list by emailing RFDWashington@AOL.com.

Another fine resource is the DCBeer digest. They send out a daily email of events, comments, etc.

cool. i went to a couple BURP meetings last summer but since i have no car, it's hard to get to them. we'll see. signed up for the beer-dc list, sounds good.

oh, and threecb was close. it's emo music, yes, but gdub = GWU: most definitely not the president.
