Hey all, im quite new to the kegerartor field.. Just got the Costco one I see you all talked about in an earlier thread... Well, I am not new to various message boards, and I did the whole search thing, so try not to flame me....

My problem is I am seeing bubbles in my beer line... I am getting a slightly bigger head than I would like since im using a 16 oz pint glass, I believe I would be getting too much foam if I used a smaller glass.... So it is not exactly a big problem since i prefer to drink from a pint, but what would cause me to see the bubbles in the beer line ? I checked my connections, everything seems to be tight, I am running at @ 10 psi on a coors light 1/4 keg on the Haier Brewmaster unit from Costco.. It is about 36 hrz settled in place...

Any suggestions on what to look for or is it actually normal or what ?? Any input is appreciated...

I'm a newbie too and just paid a line guy to set up my kegerator so I can have the ideal beer...He said, bubbles in your beer line mean the beer is under-carbonated, therefore you need to boost the CO2 pressure. Bump it up in 2 psi increments until the bubbles disappear. I bet it won't take too much more pressure for you to get rid of them.

If your pressure is too low, you have a high probability of your beer going flat, that's not good.

I have that style too. It's called a water faucet! I hope now that you have a nice toy that you will branch out and try some of the nice micro brews out there.

Sometimes your initial pours will consist of a lot of head, but subsides with some additional pours. It sounds like this may be the case with yours. If you continue to have problems refer to Colo Heads posts about this issue as there are a few suggestions there too.

To answer your question about a thermometer from another thread...I just bought one at Target that measures the temp range that we are concerned with. It was about $5.00 and is the traditional kind that uses mercury to measure the temp. I set it on top of the keg and leave it in there that way I always know my beer is at the proper temp...36-38 degrees.

Not to be picky, but in most or all States, the sale of mercury thermometers has been illegal for at least a couple of years now. The thermometer is likely alcohol based.

Nonetheless...it's not a digital thermometer. Thanks for the info...

Thanx for all the input gang.. My beer line is now bubble-less.. my excess foam problem has been resolved as well. (btw, yes, the increase to 12 psi cured the problem) I have the warm spout problem which causes my first pull to be a bit foamy, but im a trooper, i just drink the foam the first round and make sure i drink fast enough so it doesnt get to room temperature again. :)

That's great wayner. Now that you have that issue resolved you can replace your tester keg of coors light with a keg of Dogfish 120, Maybe a Smuttynose OBD, Ommegang Three Philosophers....
