Anybody else's time off by an hour? All of the posts on here happened an hour ahead of when they should.....

Yeah, I see that the time on the community front page is an hour ahead, and my User CP selections are correct. Somethin' off kilter at the RB.com server I expect. Boy, I take one week's vacation and the wheels fall off around here! ;)

That's right. No more vacations for you! Did you have a good time. Beers tried?

Oh yes, I'll have a mini tour-of-the-North review soon - with beers from Michigan and Wisconsin to sample. Unfortunately, some friends and I devoured the growler of pale ale from The Library brew-pub in Houghton, MI over the weekend, and I never got the opportunity to assess it. Since it's gone, I can only say it was pretty good! ;)

There used to be a bar RIGHT HERE IN FT. C called The Library, actually - over on Elizabeth in the same center as Panhandler's Pizza. It was a 3.2% bar; and the college kids had a great time telling their parents that they spent most of their off time in the library..... :)

We used to have a bar called the Library in Fairfax near George Mason University. If I had my own brewpub I might call it "The Paint Store" in honor of our board.:D

Yeah, Houghton, MI is a college town too - The Library there was a small pizza place with a very small bar (Bell's on tap), then it burned. The owners rebuilt and added on with a brew-pub. The beer was hit and miss this trip, Kölsch: so so. APA: not bad.

Unsuspecting Parental Unit: Where were you last night Junior? I called your dorm room all night.

Junior: Oh sorry, I was at The Library all night...

No, I was only up there for a few days - Escanaba would have taken up a day trip from my base camp.

I did find some new brews, one from the far north-western U.P., and two from the Green bay area - one that's utilizing the old Green Bay Brewing facility in Denmark, WI. (I hear that GB is only kegging beer for its Hinterland brew-pub and other area pubs now).

I think I once toured that facility in Denmark. It has been a number of years since I was last up there. ( I still have family in the Green Bay Area although my nephew just moved from there to Evanston, Ill.) I did visit several brewpubs and breweries on that last visit.

Very, very small? If so, that's the one. Not to mention the priceless address of "Steve's Cheese Road." Hah!

but if he is starting at NU and has any questions, he can definitely email me--ebhanson at gmail dot com.

even if he's just moving to take in this fine suburb he can shoot me a line if he feels like it and we can grab a beer and maybe throw some darts.
