Amstel Bright !

I tried this beer, Amstel Bright, in Aruba...

Does anyone have ANY idea where I might be able to buy this stuff in the USA or maybe order it online??

It's brewed in Curacao for the Caribbean market and I'm not sure it's available in the US. Try contacting Heineken USA for a solid answer - or your local Heineken distributor. I know it is being imported back to the Netherlands as of last year.

Everyone's tastes are different, but I'm willing to bet that Amstel Bright won't be as good a beer without a warm breeze, lapping waves and sand between your toes. Evironment and positive memories are notorious for making 'blah' food/beer/etc. taste better than it really is.

A buddy brought back a bottle of Bright for me from Aruba - drank it while watching the Patriots in my living room. While not a horrible beer, it wasn't anything special to me. Then again, I remember happily sucking down bottles of Carib while I was on a snorkeling trip in the Virign Islands. Here in the States, I don't give that beer a second look.

Ditto some of the Costa Rican beers such as Imperial. They were passable while catching 125lb sailfish but I would not want them for any other occasion.
Also,
I always think beer from tastings on a brewery tour are always soooo much better than when you taste it on draught or bottle at some later date. I'm sure freshness is a factor but ambiance must be too.
