This has to be one my favorite lagers. Is it still produced?
If so, is it widely distributed?
I am planning a day trip to Grand Bend this month and would like to find some to take home. I used to get their "Old Frothquaffers" newsletter, but haven't received one in a while.

It is certainly relatively easy to find up here, at least in Ontario. If you are in Toronto it should be very easy to find. The beer store carries it in 500ml and 355ml bottles…of course the draft is much better.
Personally, I have noticed a change in it’s flavour in the last couple of years…I don’t think it is as good as it used to be. Not sure what is missing…

I had a bottle in a restaurant when I was in Toronto in January. I thought it was a pretty decent beer. The waiter said it was the best of the ones they had on the list.

I too have had it in Toronto but I can not remember how it tasted. Is it now owned by a big brewer?

Nope they are still a micro...it is one of my favourite summer brews...but like I mentioned it is a little different over the years.
BYO did a clone recipe that is pretty good and I have made a couple of times. IIRC they bought an old version of strohs yeast...I'll have to check on this.

Thanx, guys for the info. I won't be anywhere near TO, but I will take your advice & check out a Brewer's Retail or Beer Store for some. I would be nice if they offered it at a Duty Free.
Stroh's yeast, eh? Interesting. I was fortunate to have an informal tour of the brewery when I was in the Wasaga Beach area in 1997. The Brewmaster mentioned the recipe contained Saaz hops & local water as the key ingredients. The brewery is postcard picture right in the middle of Creemore Springs. I beleive it used to be a bakery at one time. I sure hope the recipe hasn't changed. It was a great lager when I had it last.

Bought a sixer last Sat. at the in LCBO in Grand Bend.
Had 2 last night after a long ride home. I don't know if it was me or what, but it did taste a little different: more dry. Somehow I think some of the maltiness is gone.
It could have been the 4 years since I had it that changed my mind, or reading your post.
Still one of the more pleasing lagers I have sampled & will still reccommend it to anyone who hasn't tried it.

I had it only yesterday, here in Barrie on tap to boot. :D
It is so much better on tap.
