my local mega-grocery store has been selling organic apple juice in glass gallon jugs for $5. I'm seriously tempted to make a 5 gal batch of cider, and use the glass jugs for many other things...

it's also the start of garage sale season up here in MN, I'd bet with a weekend of scrounging, one could pick up gallon jugs for pocket change....
