Should i steep this,or add to boil?For how long?I did a search but it was very vague.Thanks.

Is the malto-dextrin a powder?? I usually use Carapils and steep it with the grains (it IS a grain).

Malto dextrin is a powder that is actually dextrins that are many molucules in length therfore unfermentable. They will add body to your brew. It should be added to the boil of extract brewing, but as the last post said I always subsititue carapils for maltodextrin with all grain brewing. It serves the same purpose during the mash (adds body i.e. sugars to big to be fermented by yeast)

Doesn't the carapils also give a little flavor as well??
