Can anyone help me locate stores in my area that might carry specific varieties or microbrews that I can't seem to find? I live in Tennessee, a state that isn't really well known for its breweries as much as it is for its distilleries, and as I'm not much for whiskey, I seem to be at a loss when it comes to looking for new and interesting beers. The stores don't help me much; there are far too many of them to go to each one and ask if they can get Moose Drool for me. The breweries are only able to tell me what distributors they sell to. There's a middle ground of information that, for whatever reason, I'm not able to "tap" into (forgive the tasteless pun). And I'm willing to drive a fair distance to find what I'm looking for. Any bright ideas?

I am sure that you will find a local on this board that will be able to tell you something. But in the meantime I might try calling Glaciers, they are one of the bigger distibuters out that way I believe and can probabalyy tell you where the more craft oriented stores may be.
Good luck.

i posted this some where else .. but as long as you don't live in one of those dry countys , which if they have stores that carrie beer you must not, you could try ordering online, at either bevmo.com or liquorama.net i live near their stores so i've never have ordered from them online and am not sure how it works. but it may be worth a shot.

Eventually, yes. There were a couple of good beer stores (gotta say beer store because the goofy TN laws don't allow you to sell beer and liquor in the same establishment) that I made it a point to frequent. Let's see... J. Barleycorn's, Frugal MacDoogal's, Smokes & Brews (ergh), and one other in The Village that I can remember... other than that, you were pretty much stuck with swill. There were a few good brewpubs in town - Bosco's and Blackstone - but in a town of half a million, you'd think there'd be more... then again, in the south, you wouldn't.
MAN, I'm glad to be back HOME!!!!!
