I have been summering in Nova Scotia since 1985! I think I've found a couple of brews I like but would love to hear from locals or anyone in the know as to what they like to drink from that area! Thanks in advance for any input!!

Visit the Granite brewery in Halifax. Wonderful beers and wonderful food. May be the best seafood chowder I have ever eaten.

Thanks for the tip. We don't get into Halifax much but I'll give it a shot!

You can also buy granite at the LC only their peculier, and it is not made here in NS, but in Ontario.
I no longer promote them however because the owner Kevin Keefe is running for the Conservative Party (which is probably going to sell canada to the United states) Sorry, I don't hate americans, But i am afraid of them!
I think Propeller makes the best beer in nova scotia, i am especially fond of the Best Bitter and their Porter, but Garrison is a close second, if you do come to halifax you can stop in at garrison or propeller breweries and buy right from them, or you can buy both at the LC. Garrison is on Lady Hammond Drive and Propeller is on Gottigen (you can't miss the griant rotating propeller on their building!
If you are looking for something different Try Garrisons Jalapeno ale. It is always a risk as to how hot it is going to be; I have had some pleasent bottles, and some are almost to hot to drink. They also have a raspberry wheat, a brown, a red, a stout ( I really like) and their new Tall ship amber(good session beer)
Other than those two Alexander keiths is the local, although it is now owned and operated by the giant mega brewery corporation identity eater bland brew.
And today I am going to the drive through beer window at the Maritime Beer company (Sleemans) for a growler of beer: my first growler ever.
Their is also a brewpub in yarmouth that I have tried and liked.
And the cheapest blandest beer with the highest alc. content Is Moosehead Ice (good for Concerts, Sports games etc).
If you are into Imports check your local LC regularly, I have inside information that some Belgian beers will soon be on the shelfs, and the Schnieder Weisse beer is the same as in any other country but it is good !
Where are you situated in NS. ?
I am in halifax, and my girlfriend lives in Mahone Bay

He's a conservative supporter? Oh dear...I'll have to switch brews. Seriously.
I also live in Halifax. Great city. I do love the Granite beers but in the past 4 or 5 years, they've been focusing on Ontario and Ontario only (the story of Canada...). My favorite is the Best Bitter Special. Dry hopped and cask conditioned.
Propeller has an IPA which blows all the other micros in the area out of the water. He won't be brewing it over the summer, but might consider having it in the fall. It's spectacular. Amarillo delivery system is what it is.
