Just bought a kit used..65.00 including the 10lb co2 and taps..not to bad. Well got it all hooked up, and when the Co2 is turned on from the tank, the regulator pressure skyrockets and pressure keeps blowing out. Where do you adjust?? I also have a leak. It looks like its coming from the collar where the tap goes into the refrige. Not leaking from where the beer comes out. I tried to disassemble, i even have the special little tool, but it wont budge.

do u have washers inside each hose connection? this could be why your leaking if your missing them.

Not sure about the leaks as I don't have taps (yet:))
To adjust your reg, there is a flat head screw and lock nut on the face of the reg. Turning clockwise increases the pressure and turning counter clockwise decreases it.
Hope this helps...I wasn't totaly sure from your message.

an easy way to pinpoint your leak is to mix up a bit of dish soap in some water and mop it on your fittings, you'll know right away where the leak is.
mmmBeer has it right, adjusting your regulator at first seems counterintuitive...
$65 for a talk, regulator, and taps is pretty nice score, good luck and post any further issues, we'll get you through them...

It is possible that your regulator is shot. If you don't spend the extra money to get a commerical grade regulator they have a pretty short shelf life. Given that you bought the system used and for so cheap that may have been the case with the prevous owner. Also, when you first attach a keg to the system and turn the air on you will hear a prolonged hiss (like 2-3 seconds at most) which is the Co2 initially going into the regulator and then the air line.
To find out if you have a leak use the soap water test (just you would to find the leak in car or bike tire). Get some soapy water and use a brush or sponge to over the whole line (with the Co2 on) to see where it bubbles up. The leak will be where the bubbles are.

Yeah, i hear the hiss where its building up pressure..but then it starts, repeatedly blowing out the little valve, with the ring attached to it. (sounding like a machine gun) then i turn the pressure off at the bottle. I didnt see a screw on the regulator to adjust pressure.
Basicly ive been turning it on, and letting enough pressure build in the lines so we can drink the beer. Then when it gets low again, we just open and close the valve..its pretty ghetto..lol previous owner said its a new regulator, but one of the gauges looks like its been dropped and bent a little. If i need a new one, any recommendations on where to buy at a good price?

You may just need new guages. If your pressure to the keg guage is broken then you may be sending more pressure into the keg than you think! Most regulators have a blow off point between 45 and 55 psi. Just a note going forward - be very careful with your guages, they are pretty fragile.
Here are a few places you could look for regulators (http://www.kegworks.com/shoppingcart/customer/product.php?productid=16438&cat=427&page=1)
and gauges (http://www.kegworks.com/shoppingcart/customer/product.php?productid=16444&cat=427&page=1)
you may also be able to get some help at a local welding supply store.

Cool, just ordered the new regulator, and the shank faucet rebuild kit with all the new washers. Hope that will fix everything.
