on a tip from blueharp i emailed peter at the alesmith and this is what i got back from them about a summer brew batch #500
then recieved it again in thier news letter;
ONE-TIME SUMMER RELEASE OF YULESMITH
Christmas in July? That's what it will feel like when you lift a pint
of your favorite Holiday Ale in the middle of summer! YuleSmith
Holiday Ale is back, but in a red, white, and blue bottle just in time for
the 4th of July. We brewed this Special Release for a number of reasons:
AleSmith's 500th batch of beer, YuleSmith's Gold Award , and
July is American Beer Month. YuleSmith in the red, white and blue
bottles will only be available in the month of July and is expected to
sell out quickly. Don't worry though, because we'll be brewing more for
the regular Seasonal release in time for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Look for the familiar label in red, white and blue at your favorite
AleSmith outlet or purchase some directly from the brewery

Since you're here Hopjack, thanks for the info, I will look for it. Also, rather bad news about my birthday. I will not have a keg of Frank's...... I will have a cask!!!:D My b-day is the 17th of Aug. If you can't make it then ( I know it's a Tues but my job gives me 11 weeks of vacation - sorry for bragging ) then you HAVE to go to Stone's b-day on the 21st of Aug. They will have Alesmith AND Dogfshd will be there too!! I may not be sober for a few days. Then there's an IPA fest at Lucky's sometime soon ( ahhhh summer). Somewhere in these we have to hook up. Your 02/02 (s ?) are becoming mighty tempting . I'm sure you'll be heard from soon.

11 weeks! Thats pretty good. I get vacation whenever I feel like it. Being a figurehead and all has it's perks. :D I have yet to work a full week so far this year. (Actually, it comes from having loyal, trustworthy and competent employees for which I am extremely blessed and grateful.) So now that your having a CASK maybe we should all incorporate your birthday celebration into our Vacation Schedules. Me like Casks!

It would be fine by me. The catch is that it will stay in Redondo Beach CA. If anyone on this board can make it, you are definitely welcome. Must be nice to be in a position with underlings and the perks of "figureheadedness". Although my job is rather independent I definitely have to answer to others. Some are VERY incompetent and vindictive. Oh well, that's why we drink awesome beer.

I have to answer to many "Bosses" they are called clients. Most of whom are reasonable. Enjoy that cask and here is an early happy b-day wish! You never know who might just show up :D

If Chaz lives out east then he will be excused, just like I hope I would if there's a party out there. What about the GABF?? My father said he'd love to go and I can't think of a better excuse for me. I think I plan on going. As for the Stone gig, I always volunteer and get the best seat in the house, behind a jockey box with 2 taps beholden to me. I hafta be sneaky but it's really a party ( thats gotten rather large ) and unless I'm really loud and obnoxious I get by. Anywho, thanks and cheers.

A 3 liter of the Dastard!! Woohooo!!! You bet I shall raise a glass, of something full of hops and 8+ in your honor. As for the 24th of July, as long as I can convince the powers that be to watch my son I'd love to. I've always wanted to go to O'Brians. They always have the crazy Stone keg parties. Oops.. Hey if you do make it to Naja's, ask for Jason and tell him Eric sent ya. Drink some Racer X. Mmmmmm....

Train sounds fine and so does driving. The more the merrier. The Real ale fest was fun. They had 3 double IPA's but of course 2 were gone on Fri. night. So, of course I took it upon myself to do as much damage to the 3rd one on Sat. They also had an oak Bastard. Tasty. I really didn't taste too much. Unfortunately my buddy started acting crazy so I had to leave. Oh well. You didn't get to Naja's?? I went at 8:30p.m. since I actually felt good after drinking less than normal. Unfortunately I was gonna stop for just one ( yeah right ) but I bumped into some friends and ........ oh yeah, I had a Ruination cask . Very nice.

sounds like i missed out! i didn't make it to najas, or redondo at all. i was at work till 7:30pm the guys we hired to come in were soooo slow!they were even slow at lunch . they told me they'd be back in 30 min. and they took over an hour! oh well, if you want something done right.....
can't believe i missed the ruination!!! on cask!!! guess there's alwawys next june:( too bad i missed you too, but i had to show these guys EVERYTHING! and by the time i was done i was fithly.
anywaysa the train would be better i think , we wouldn't have to worry about driving. i'll have to find out how close it gets to o'brians.

You got it. I shall inform 'She who must be obeyed" to see if it'll work out. My son must be taken care of. Don't worry, Naja's is only getting better. He plans on having quite a few double IPA's this summer. Stop by whenever you can. Don't worry about what you're wearing too much. It's not an "upscale" place.

sounds like a plan my man, this guy i work with has been bugging me for 6 months (he lives in redondo) to hook up his lighting. im not sure why he insists on waiting for me to get out there and do it , but he's bribing me with the 3litre of double bastard so im probably gunna take him up on it when i get the chance. as soon as i get out that way i'll give you a shout! im still bummed about the ruination on cask though......:(
