The Brickskeller in DC holds the world record for most beers at a bar. They have 1100 beers. only bottles though. On fridays and saturdays they feature 3 tap beers. I had sierra nevada harvest a couple weeks ago on tap! (In dc that is crazy). Good prices and a nice scene:D

You should also check out Dave Alexander's other restraunt newly opened across from the MCI center. Its called RFD. ~300 bottles, 30 + 10 taps in two bars, and two casks.

If anyone is ever down at Virginia Beach, give Abbey Road a try. It certainly doesn't boast quite as many beers as the brickseller, but it does boast the 2nd widest beer selection at the beach. You should be able to find a good example of almost every styl you might be in the mood for.

Not trying to piss on your parade as I too want to visit the Brickskeller someday, but I'm no longer impressed by bars that tout 100, 200, 1000+ beers. Even in a busy city like DC, there is no way in hell you can offer that selection and keep the brews fresh. Reading a few reviews of the place and talking to a few who've been, you should have a running list of beers you want to try because your first few choices may be conveniently "fresh out".

Hey, selection is nice and all, but I'd rather hit a place like Redbones BBQ in Boston who have maybe 20 taps that rotate frequently. Freshness is rarely and issue.

Amen! I would much rather spend time in a bar that has 10-15 carefully chosen taps, and maybe another 20 or 25 bottle offerings that are all fresh.

I can't speak for the Brickskeller (never been there), but I've been burned too many times at places that advertise 100's of beers by old, non-rotated brews. Yeccchh...
