Just trying to stimulate some discussion on what I think is
a great brewery. Middle Ages brewing from I believe Syracuse,NY
I don't think it's distributed in my home turf of Western PA but
I wish it was. I've had a couple different varieties when I've travelled out of state an IPA,ESB (i think) & a barley wine.
Even though a couple of beers had probably been on the shelf
a bit too long you could certainly taste a quality beer underneath.
(except the barley wine of course which is perfect for aging)
I'd love to taste some of these puppies fresh!! If anyone connected to M.A is reading this bring some of these brews
down to you southern neighbors in the west of PA !!!

I just happen to know the owners, a friend of mine worked there, and my employer sells some of their product.

Do you have anything there worth trading for Midlle Ages product?

sounds intriguing....how much does it cost to ship say a six pack?
I guess you'd just pack it in a box in some shipping"peanuts"...
anything down our way you'd be interested in?..Troegs is a good
newer PA micro..they have a great Hopback amber & pale..Victory
brewing is great...also I'm a frequent consumer of Great Lakes
products

I can actually buy Middle Ages at my local store here in Northwest Ohio - that's odd that it's not available in Western Pa. Have you tried Mellinger's in Pittsburgh? I know they've got a nice selection of micros.

Heck, I'd think that with the strange laws regarding case purchasing of beer in PA, you'd be making monthly visits to the border for a restocking of the fridge!

IIRC, the owners told me that they were having a hard time getting into PA because of their laws.

Unbelievable.... does anyone know if the case prices in PA are comparable to other states? Or are you getting ripped off there too? Maybe it'd be worth driving into PA for cases if the prices made it worth the trip, but I suspect the unions have their hand in that pie as well....

yeah PA has some Arcane & stupid laws regard beer distribution
however recently there are serveral "establishments" that serve food that can sell mix'n'match 6-paks which allows you to sample
various beers though it tend to be a bit pricey..compared to
out of state pricing it seems the beer here is probably a bit
cheaper when buying by the case> I still would like the "luxury"
of buying a 6-pak from a supermarket et cetra
