Just wanted to post that one of the first (if not THE first) brewpub in Minnesota is about to close. Sherlock's Home, which has been written about by Michael Jackson in several of his books, is set to close on December 31. This is a sad event for Minnesota brewing. They have always had outstanding beer, food and an authentic British pub ambience. There was not a single neon sign in the place. The Bishops Bitter and Piper's Pride were always outstanding. The fish and chips as well as the beef and kidney pie were to die for. Was just there tonight and had some of each plus a glass of there Winter Warmer, an outstanding British Old Ale of considerable strength. If you are in the area, make sure you visit as often as possible. Sad to see this place go.

That is very bad news! I've wanted to make it up there for a long time, but it is a bit of a trip. Now it looks like it won't get done.

Why are they closing?

Not really sure why they are closing. Whenever I've been there it seems like it's very busy. I'm probably going there this evening after work, I'll see if I can get the "scoop".

Had their Winter Warmer last week--amazing! Served directly from the wooden cask. Awesome beer!
