I think I'm right in saying that lawnmower racing was founded in England in Wisborough Green (not far from where I live) in 1973.

I first saw it in the Big Field at Brockham when I was still living there - and I left over 20 years ago.

It certainly seems as though the sport has grown up a bit since then!
