View Full Version : Favorite beer...shirts?
Hi all,
We've just launched a new website...
www.sudsgear.com
...and we're trying to determine what beer enthusiasts think are their favorite beer SHIRTS, not necessarily their favorite beers. If you have any favorites...based on either really cool brands, logos, pictures, colors, countries, or just your favorite beer...we'd love to hear about them, and also to hear about where we might be able to obtain them. Or feel free to mail us a picture of the shirt at info@sudsgear.com.
Any feedback on the website is also appreciated!
Thanks!

I have over 100 beer / brewery / brewpub t shirts. Collected from my travels. Many from defunct establishments dating back to the 1980s. I am thinking of selling the whole lot. I was considering ebay.

What size are you, chaz? I know it's been a month since you posted this, but hey - I thought I'd ask...

The sizes range from L to XXL as does my size. :D

Hmmm.... as we recover from the move, physically AND financially, and as you decide to get rid of some of the cooler shirts, you just might have to put 'em up here. HEY... you could trade them for beer! (Of course in my case you may want to wait until the beer actually ARRIVES before you ship your end of that bargain..... :o )

This is a bit of an old thread ...
But I realized recently that I could wear a beer shirt every day of the week without duplication. :)
My favorite is probably my (now faded) black Rasputin shirt from North Coast.
1. (North Coast) Rasputin Logo T-Shirt
2. Gordon Biersch black button up ("borrowed" from a friend who worked there)
3. (North Coast) Pranqster Logo T-Shirt
4. (Speakeasy) Big Daddy IPA Logo T-Shirt
5. Simpsons, Homer holding beer T-Shirt
6. Olde Anchor Tavern T-Shirt
7. Hi-Lo Brew T-Shirt

I likrd the Railyard Pale Ale shirt. The locomotive was cool. Bear in mind one of my other hobbies is model railroading.

Wonder if North Coast still make "Old #38" or something like that. It had an engine on it's label. Named for the train that still runs through town and carries tourists I believe. I saw it one morning after visiting the brewery

When I was in Hawaii in Feb, I tried some Kona Fire Rock Pale Ale for the first time. I thought it was a pretty good pale ale, similar to RedHook ESB with more Cascade presence in the nose. I was in a t-shirt shop, and saw a Kona Fire Rock t-shirt made by a Hawaiian company called Crazy Shirts. It turns out that the shirt was dyed in the beer!
It's one of my favorite t-shirts.
Although the Kona FRPA shirt isn't listed, there is a whole series of beer-dyed t-shirts on the Crazy Shirts (http://www.crazyshirts.com/listbycolor.cfm?dept=004&color=Pale%20Ale) web site.
The best news is that one of my local supermarket chains (QFC) is now carrying Kona beers, too.

I probably have close to 100 beer shirts from different pubs. Hazard of the profession, hit the festivals and trade shirts and stuff.

Yeah, at least for me, too. From all three pubs I've worked in and festivals I've worked, and shirts from suppliers, they add up really fast.

Funny story about "Old 38" (which I am big fan of). North Coast wanted to call it "Old 45" because that was the number of the main engine that pulled the Skunk Train (goes through Ft. Bragg). But the owner, whose name escapes me right now, said that he was afraid the owners of "Colt 45" would sue! So he insisted that the name be changed to something else. Since The 38 engine also ran the Skunk line from time to time they chose to name the stout "Old 38" as their "lawsuit safe" name.
This is according to Doug who is the head of sales there. Fun guy that Doug, gives a good tour.
Okay I'll admit, I'm such a Fanboy of North Coast that I've taken the tour twice and would gladly take it again. :)

The Old No. 38 is one of the mildest, easy-drinkingest stouts I've ever had. And would you really expect otherwise from North Coast, anyway? Now if you could only enjoy one while riding on the train at the same time!

Oddly, my favorite beer shirt is one that I got from my favorite local watering hole. It is gray, has their logo on the front left breast. On the back, it has the old WWI Uncle Sam Army poster drawing, and the caption "Draft Beer, Not People!"

All my favorites but one have long been retired to the rag bin.
Bridgeport - Sky Blue long sleeve with white band across the front with brewery name and 20. On the back was a large circle with 20 oz. Oh, how I miss this shirt!
Hair of the Dog - Any of them! Love that fire hydrant!
Windmer Hopjack - This was a cool forest green T with rust colored piping around the sleeves and neck. The oval hopjack logo on the front was similar color. I wore this shirt down to the last thread.
Anchor Porter - 2 colored blue horizontal pinstripes with the Porter logo on front.
North Coast Rasputin - Black T-shirt with the gray piping. "Never Say Die"
Drink local, wear Independent!

My wife and I have gotten into a very strange habit - watching "What Not To Wear" on TLC. There was a guy who had a Mr. Beer shirt that he said was dyed in real beer for the color! Of course, it was the color of vomit... Stacy asked if the shirt was so you could spill beer on it and no one would ever see a stain! Too funny!

Hey! I have one of those shirts, and it's not the color of vomit (at least not my vomit)! They're available here (http://www.crazyshirts.com/listbycolor.cfm?dept=011&color=Pale%20Ale) . Also available in coffee, money, chili, wine and a whole bunch of others...

Hey, it was on my honeymoon, in a tourist mecca...(and I think it was a bit cheaper. maybe, 22). And, at $28, it's cheaper than some of the "designer" tee shirts out there with price tags much, much higher.

I like the shirt at beer church...."can you beer me now?" in big bold letters in the middle of the shirt, bartenders seem to like it. It's much better than the verizon ad.

I just ordered a T-shirt emblazoned with "I prefer Belgian Blondes" on it. Pictures of sundry example bottles are in the background.
However, my fav shirt at the moment is my classy polo shirt with a small Leffe insignia on it.
Cheers,
Chaos.
I got a tee shirt with a picture of a big 1 litre German style mug of beer on it, nothing else. Looks kinda nice, too bad I wore it too often, so now the picture is fading.

I once asked Paulaner for a bar sign to add to my bar and they sent me this huge package full of t shirts and hats instead. So if anyone wants a smaller sized Paulaner shirt lemme know... Not sure what to do with them other then let my girlfriends kids wear them...

I'm looking for a hat with a good beer logo. I keep seeing guys with their Bud and Corona hats. If you've got another Paulaner hat, I may want it, but if anyone else can get me a cool beer hat, I'd be a happy man. And of course I'd be willing to pay/trade for it.

I have to say I don't usually like beer Ts. Every micro I go to has these ugly T-shirts--strange pastel colors in sizes too big for me (I take an M). I almost always pass on the shirts because of this. I'm a simple guy. Black or white, usually black. Medium.
Anyway, I go for metal lapel pins. I've got a few now, but not enough! I even have one from the small York brewery in England. The beer gear that really made me drool was at Summit in St. Paul--I saw some workers wearing a green Car Hartt-style work jacket with a huge, embroidered Summit logo on the back. I don't think they sell them. I would definitely pay for one.

I've got a collection of about 300 English and a few German lapel pins. Also lots of hats, t shirts, and pint glassed. I'm a compulsive collector.
One of these days I'm going to sell off most of the shirts. I have about 100 or more. sizes ranging from m to xxl.
