i find it hard to believe that Magoo's pizza is not listed on the realbeer site. Magoo's sells more draft beer than any other bar/restaurant/ brewpub in hawaii. 500 plus kegs per month. 120 faucets on a single tower, 60 faucets on the front and 60 on the back side. there are only 77 draft beers available for purchase in hawaii and Magoo's has them all. all beer is served in 12 ounce mugs or 60 ounce pitchers. prices range from $1.00 per mug for domestics like bud, miller, coors to $2.00 per mug for the highest priced beers like guinness, bass, big foot ale by sierra nevada, fuller esb, erdinger hefe, etc.. pitcher costs are $5.00 to $10.00. all beers are served at temps of 32 degrees to 38 degrees. any questions, post a reply or shoot me an e-mail. thanks, the beerman

Thanks for the info. My brother lives in Hawaii and I'll pass the info on to him.

Is any of it cask-conditioned or is it all Keg?
Because I know of somebody travelling the Hawaii quite soon who would surely like to know!

There is this strange but persistant myth that it's not possible to have cask-condtioned beers in hot countries. Absolute nonsense, of course. The Lion Brewery in Sri Lanka manages - and it doesn't get much hotter than Sri Lanka. Their Lion Stout is bottle-conditioned, too.
And in these days of readily available cooling systems it's very easy to keep a cask - or even a whole cellar - at the correct temperature for cask fermentation.

And the Lion Stout that is bottle conditioned is mighty good.

Don't get me wrong, i'm not saying its not possible.
I bet I could walk down the street and talk to 100 people and not 1, not 1 could tell me what a cask-conditioned beer is. Chances are not only couldn't they tell me, but they probably haven't even heard of it. You'll find large amounts of beer ignorance in hawaii, this isn't England. So my point is more/less that almost nobody here even understands the style let alone would they brew it and try and sell it to a pub. Peace, HN-

Indeed. I agree with you. In fact, you could walk down a street in London and find a very substantial number who don't know what cask-conditioned beer is, too.
But it's not the ordinary people I speak of but the bar owners. In Hawaii we have Magoo's pizza, serving a creditable range of beers, but which does not, apparently, serve cask- conditioned beer. It is a guess, of course, but I would imagine that. were you to ask the owner, he (or she) would come out with the old myths about cask-conditioned beer - it's not what people expect, you can't brew it in hot countries, you can't store it in hot countries, there's no demand - maybe somebody could ask the owner for us.
