That's what you get for going to A&M. :p
If you can find any of the Real Ale beers they're good. Also try Brenham breweries beers. St. Arnold's makes decent beer, too.
Austin has 4-5 brewpubs and lots of great beer stores - the rest of Texas is kind of a wasteland.

I think Brenham Brewery has closed. I have driven by several times and never seen any activity.

That's too bad - some of their brews were tasty.

What a shame. The Brenham Black Lager (Schwarzbier) was great!

I don't like St Arnolds. Too orangey or something!
Have you tried Shiner Bock? That's my favorite beer in TX. I moved from Philly to Houston. It was very hard to leave Yuengling Lager behind and almost considered not making the move. Until I discovered Shiner Bock! It's a regional beer, brewed in Shiner, TX, but it's distributed in like 30 states.

There's PLENTY of good beer in TX... you'll find lots of things to make you almost forget about Yuengling!
Welcome to the board! I see you're getting around the posts well enough... what's that, 10 today? Nice job! :D

It'll slow down though! I had been on this site many times before, but just never noticed the forums. I was trying to figure out if I can use paintball co2 to refil my keg fridge and google led me to these wonderful forums!

I've had Yuengling. I doubt anything from St. Arnold's or Shiner will make you forget them.
That being said, yes, there are some great beers in Texas. Abita from Louisiana is one. ;)
Brenham brewery is no more.

Back to the whole college station thing... Is there a homebrew supply store that anybody knows about in the BCS area? I need bottling supplies.

I think there was a place call Brewstuff in Bryan, but I haven't been up there in a long time. You may have to make the drive into Houston. There's a place called The Brew Stop on the North side.
