I was surfing the board earlier today and read a post stating that bottled beer should be refrigerated 3 days prior to consumption.Do any of you do this?I usually put mine in the fridge 3 hrs or so before drinking it as to let in bottle condition at room temp as long as possible.I might try this to see if there is a noticable difference.

I can't comment for homebrew, since I keg, but for storebought beer, there is only one consideration: bottle conditioned? If it is bottle conditioned and the wench at the beer store shook it as well as she could while bagging it, it'll sit for a day or two to settle back down. If it isn't bottle conditioned, I might give it an hour or two. But to be fair to the beer wench, I do have a 50 mile drive home.

What about keg conditioning? I plan to brew a batch next week that will sit untouched for about 8 months. Then we will open it to celebrate the birth of our baby. So, should I store it in the kegerator?

I'd wouldn't wait to carbonate it, if you force carb, though, do it when you keg it...

I have the room, I have an extra chest freezer that I have been trying to give away. Amazingly I have not gotten any takers.
Until now I have force carbinated but I think this one will be natural. It will have plenty of time to mature.

If you decide you want to give that chest freezer away again, let me know! Where in Texas are you?
