If DME is used instead of sugar for priming, does it also have to be boiled like sugar?

If I normally use 3/4 cup of sugar, then it's 1 1/2 cups of DME, right?

Yes, boil the DME like sugar. 1.5 cups DME may be a bit much, I'd go with 1.25 cups, like Mr. Palmer (http://www.howtobrew.com/section1/chapter11-4.html) recommends...
