American verision of a Belgian Wit.

Great label art too!

Pours an extremely light golden color, as one would expect a wit to pour. Medium white head with very rapid bubbles that are reminiscent of a Sprite's foam, and that disappear almost as rapidly. Swirl the last of the bottle to get all of the sediment in the glass. Very clear with little or no "fogginess" that one sees with many of the wheat beers. The nose is wheat mixed with a lemon/orange scent. First taste is a light wheat flavor and citrus, as one would expect from the nose, however the overbearing flavor of corriander or nutmeg dominates the aftertaste. Subsequent tastes are dominated more and more with the spices, and less and less of the wheat/citrus flavor that was really a winner. Would like to see this brew tone down the corriander or nutmeg some, and then it would be a truly great beer.

The White Rascal pours a hazy, very light yellow-white. It has a decent sized white head that has good retention and some lacing.

The aroma is musty and yeasty with some slight citrus notes (orange peel) and some spiciness.

The taste is yeasty and spicy (corriander) with more of the citrus (lemon and orange) coming out and some sweetish malts which helps balance it nicely. It’s a little on the thin side. It has a nice, crisp finish and is very easy-drinking.

Overall, a great summer brew.

Now you have me wondering if I might have bought an old or bad batch. The head on all that I drank from that sixer dissappated very rapidly, with no lacing whatsoever. What could possibly account for these differences?

i have my beer glasses seperate from regular drinking glasses.
the head will not stick around too long if the glass has had milk in it, i think brewmonkey told me about that. something about the fat cells in the milk are hard to get off the glass.
on the flip side i had a brooklyn black chocolate stout in a regular glass the other night and the head stay'd in there for all 12 rounds....er ....uh ounces!:D
but i have noticed it to be true with other beers.

I keep my beer glasses in the bar, and there is nothing but beer ever in them. They are also all hand washed. So, I wouldn't think that this is the problem!
