The Brooklyn Brown poured ruby-brown with a big, fluffy, light brown head that showed excellent retention.
The aroma was nutty chocolate with a slight fruity hop note.
It was medium bodied (a little on the thin side) with nice carbonation. The taste was a surprisingly big fig flavor initially with lots of chocolate and nuttiness. It had a crisp, very subtle bitter, and slight metallic finish.
Overall, a nice, drinakable brown ale. It reminded me of a cross between a New Belgium Abbey and a porter.

Brooklyn Brown Ale is a fine product, i prefer it to any imported brown ale.The Brooklyn Brewey imho is one of the 2 or 3 best craft brewerys in the country. Brooklyn lager is (along with SNPA) the beer i keep cold at home. Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout is my favorite seasonal. I don't know if you can get them in Colorado but if you see them and there in date try them all.

I'd definitely like to try some more. However, I have never seen them in CO. I acquired this one in a trade. We are going to the East coast this summer, so I will keep my eyes peeled for some!

They are a fine brewery and Garrett Oliver is a knowlegable brewer. I'm not sure I would put them in my personal top three though. Definitely up there but not quite top three. Who are your other top Craft brewerys? This might make an interesting new thread: Name your top 5 craft / micro breweries. Rather than just naming top beers.

I enjoy all the Brooklyn products. There barelywine is very good. Also, I find their larger to be a great intro beer for a person wishing to discover the world of craft beers.
Side bar on the barelywine. a friend of mine is the Brooklyn distributor in my area. He introduced me to one of the brewers. This was before the barleywine was on the market. I said, "I wish you guys would make a barelywine. " He smiled and said it is out this fall.
