Many states have restricted beer sales via the internet. However, if you live in one of the enlighten states and can buy brew on the net this site has one of the better listings:

How do I know if my state is enlightened or not?

Oh, hey, that brings a question to my mind... Do you have to be a licensed bar/pub/whatever to get kegs? I mean, could I, as a private citizen, order a keg of ... Sierra Nevada Pale Ale? Does anyone know what's involved in doing that sort of thing?

In the UK you can order beer by the cask - sizes range from a pin (32 Imperial pints of just under 40 US pints) upwards.

You can't resell it, of course, without a licence.

There is much litigation occurring now about internet wine and beer puchases. You can polk around the Web to research your particular states regulations.

Here in California.....It is legal!

I've gotten kegs in 4 different states. In California it is really easy (at least in my area). You just go to the liquor store and order what you want. Some stores are easier to work with than others. The bad ones will only want to sell you what they have in stock, which is usually macros.

In Oregon you either go to a brewery/brew-pub (not all of them sell to the public, but some do), or a distributer. The distributers will have a better selection.

In Washington I have only bought directly from a brewer.

In Ohio I had to jump through a bunch of hoops and it was a pain in the butt. I finally just convinced a bar owner to sell me one in the back alley.

If anyone is from Ontario,Canada...you can buy beer here:

All Canadian, and some US, brands are available and it usually arrives at your door in 1 hour.

My family owns a small chain of liquor stores in the North Eastern US. I had no idea it was that hard to get kegs elsewhere. In our stores you just come in, pay a deposit, and away you go with as many kegs as you have the funds to purchase.

Does anyone know of an outfit that ships craft beers from the US or UK to France? I found a site in Belgium that would ship here, but they didn't have any of the extremely-hopped pales that I'm looking for. Thanks!
