Unholy Bastard Ale
First, I named this beer Unholy because I pitched Abbey yeast and it all died, (I want to think that my beer waas too much for the yeast but I am betting the yeast was bad) Anyways after 36 hours with no activity I pitched red star instead.
I named it Bastard because it does not fit into any style guidelines other the experimental. (Thus is it without a father and a bastard)
Recipe:
12 Lbs 2-Row malt
14 Lbs Pale Liquid Malt Extract
.3 Lbs Chocolate malt
.3 Lbs Special B
.3 Lbs 40L Crystal
2 Lbs Dextrose
1.5 oz Nugget Bittering
1.5 oz Saaz Bittering
2 oz Cascade Dry hopped
RIP abbey yeast
Red star Yeast
O.G. 1.156
I will keep you all updated
BTW when I added the Cascades to the fermenter the beer decided to high kruesen a second time filling the airlock and overflowing onto the fermentor.
