Can someone tell me how many ounces are in a 1/4 and 1/2 keg?

Well Stod, I was going to disagree with you, but I've found some interesting information... A barrel of beer is officially 36 gallons, but a barrel of wine is only 31.5 gallons. (and a barrel of oil is 42 gallons....)

Anyways, the last commercial half barrel I bought said 15.5 gallons on it, which isn't ANY of the above measurements, it's 1984 ounces... (and a 1/4 barrel is 7.75 gallons, or 992 ounces. I think we're just getting cheated...)

at least Sabco is cheating us... http://www.kegs.com/newkegsales.html

I didn't do any actual math, I just walked upstairs and looked at our kegs, for kegs to go, that are hanging on our wall, and took the answers from them. I didn't do the math for those, either. :D

I've never heard of a barrel of beer being 36 gallons. That's kinda weird. The industry standard is 31 gallons. Hmmmm... interesting.

A 1/2 bbl in the US is 15.5 USG and a full bbl is 31USG.

While it does indeed say that, it is incorrect. No one that I know of uses 36USG and as you noted all cooperage is annotated in 31 gallon (or portions thereof) measures.

So if you sold them in 20 oz. glasses at $2.00 each you would make......

Dont forget to calculate the foam. 10% foam makes it a 18 oz glass.

Foam is 98% gas, Atleast thats what the experts say.
