As I live in a area where the best beers I can obtain are Sam Adams and Guiness, I recently have been looking into ordering some beer online. I would like to know if anyone has ordered beer from one of those two beer stores, before I purchase anything from them.
Any help would be most appreciated.

I ordered some beer from liquidsolutions back in November (Alaskan Smoked Porter and NB Transatlantique Kriek to name a few), and was very happy. Good communication, pretty quick turnaround on the delivery, and the beer was well packaged and fresh. The shipping costs are steep, but worth it.
Where in West Virginia are you? If you're close to the Ohio border, you've got a couple of options:
1) Just north of Athens (maybe 40 minutes from WV) is a small town called Nelsonville, and there is a store on the main street (I forget the name) that has a surprisingly good ber selection.
2) If you're willing to road trip to Cinci for a day, you can shop at Jungle Jim's (the best beer selection in Ohio), and haul back to WV stuff like Victory, Dogfish Head, Goose Island, Capital, Great Lakes, Bell's, and on and on....

The prices are steep and the shipping is worse. Make sure you double check but the prices they quote are PER BOTTLE and shipping was almost as much as the beer.

I have used liquidsolutions and hitimewines and both were very good at shipping promptly and communication. Yes the shipping is a really MF'er but sometimes there is no other option if you want to try a beer.

Thank you for the replys. Shipping isnt my major concern (unless they dont ship it well), just whether or not the website(s) I listed is legitamite - I do not want to give my credit card number to some kid in a basement, which is why I asked.
Once again, thank you for your help.
BTW, I live southern WV.

Also, make sure Big Red that it is legal to get beer shipped to your door in W.Va. I live in KY and it's illegal here (the online stores will know, so if you live in a state where you can't get brew delivered to your door, they won't ship it there). In that case, if you know someone in say, Ohio, you can ask them of the favor of having your beer shipped to THEIR house.
Good Luck!! :)

Not true - it's illegal in Texas and they ship to me. The law is just slanted so they and the carrier have no legal culpability(ie they are acting as an agent on YOUR behalf).

I think it is legal to get beer shipped to WVa. All the online stores list WV in thier list.

We are sorry, but
We cannot deliver to P.O. Boxes or military addresses.
We can not deliver alcohol to the following states:
MA, KY, TN, MD, FL, GA, IN, or NC..
I know I can get wine shipped to WVa (2 cases a month, from www.wineinstitute.org), so I figure brew is not going to be a problem.

Some states have no laws restricting the shipment of wine but they have laws prohibiting beer. Stupid, but true.

I used to get beer from several different beer of the month clubs. It was always fun getting home and finding a box of beer. After a while though I found I could get most of what they were sending at my local paint stores. And one time I got a shipment of Dominion Lager which is brewed 10 minutes from my house. I have also tried the Belgian beer club and it was fun but I wish I could have gotten 1 or 2 bottles from 6 breweries instead of 12 beers from 2 breweries. I have heard thet the Michael Jackson Club is good. I think Steveh might belong to that one.

Well, if WVa is one of those states, im going to be SOL.
So far, from what I have read, everything is conflicting. Some site state that they CANNOT ship beer to WVa, while some sites say they CAN because it is alcohol.
I just wish there was database for all this legal stuff...
