Other than the normal Black and Tan off the tap, what are other mixed beers you can't help but admit to liking... at least a little bit?

I can't help but enjoy Newcastle with Bohannan's Vanilla (about 2 or 3 to 1 ratio of Newcastle to Bohannan's normally). It's a bit like very vanilla tasting butterscotch.

There used to be a German restaurant in Chicago's western 'burbs that had a waitress who had a great knack for "blending" the tap Helles and tap Dunkel to make a pretty good Oktoberfest clone.

Other than that once or twice, and the occasional half and half, I've never been inclined to mix my beer.

i tired something like a black and tan once where the "tan" was hard cider. it was interesting, but don't think i'd ever order my own!

They make a drink at the Reef called a Belgian Sunrise which is 1 part Lindeman's Kriek and 3 parts Allagash White.

That sounds interesting. I have not really tried mixing beers either. And I'm not fond of the premixed Black and Tans. I have not tried a half and Half in years. I used to enjoy them though.

I do have the one mixed beer drink that I created when I used to work at Murphy's here in DC. I called it MeridianFC's black n' tan (though you could also do it as a half n' half).

1. Pour a pint of Guinness
2. Pour a pint of Bass
3. Place them next to each other
4. Put a straw in both pints
5. Drink

1400 posts, and I make the milestone with a lame giggle. :/ Oh well, at least it was in response to something funny!

Congrats on those 1400. Your posts are always informative and interesting so a giggle here and there is ok.

A favourite in Youngs pubs in London was always a "Ram and Special" This was a half pint of cask "Special" in a pint glass topped up with a bottle of "Ramrod".

And, and...how was it? That sounds like something I'd give a go!

If you scroll down on this link page :
http://www.granitebrewery.ca/beer.html

You will see how my local brew pub serves mixed draft
or i will just post it here:

Special Blends
Amber and Tan: Best Bitter mixed with an equal amount of Peculiar.
Black and Tan: Best Bitter topped with an equal amount of Keefe's Irish Stout.
Shandy: Best Bitter topped with an equal amount of Lemon Soda.
Light and Bitter : A choice of lager mixed with an equal amount of Best Bitter.
Bitter Tops: Best Bitter topped with a spritz of lemon soda.

I like the black and tan and light and bitter, It is incredible how mixing changes both beers so much that it is hard to distinguish either. I would probably drink the old peculiar alone over any of the mixes, I have been getting a real craving for the sulphery strangeness that it imparts.
I tried a bitter tops once, and it was good and light so I could still drive home, but really too sweet for my tastes.
I think the beer mixes are great to appeal to a wider mix of people

Thanks for the website. I enjoyed the pictures. It has been a while but I have have visited both locations and the one in Halifax had the best bowl of seafood chowder I have ever eaten. Good beers too.

Ah. I tasted something similar to this. It was lindeman's kriek and hoegaarden white. The bar called it a "Sweet Ho". I thought that was pretty funny.

My friend and I enjoy mixing a stout we made with a raspberry ale he made. That got me to thinking about mixing a stout with a blueberry ale to create a Black and Blue. But that hasn't happened yet.
