Yo....anybody out there have any experience with Oatmeal as an adjunct? ( Other than Stouts). I had a Wheat beer on draft at a forgotten roadhouse that I swear had the "mouth-feel" of Oatmeal. It was gorgeous!!!! Anyone out there have any thoughts or experience?

I have used oats in all kinds of beers for various reasons. I know several brewers who use it in their wheat beers to include Belgian Wits.

It can lend a level of complexity that otherwise would not be there. It can/will add some mouthfeel to the beer, think oatmeal stout versus dry stout. The oats will make a bid difference.

I have used it in both my wits and hefes. I really like what it does to the beer. Like brewmonkey said it adds something to the mouth feel…almost a creaminess. I haven’t decided if I’ll use it again in the Hefe, not as sure about the benefits in that one. But I always use it in my wits.

Yep, I as well have used flaked oats and flaked wheat in my wits and hefes. Works great.
