New to brewing!

Hi everyone, I've been interested in homebrewing for quite some time and I want to start homebrewing myself. Are there any good kits or websites that I should know about that might make the begining process a little bit easier? I'm also going to be letting my kids make their own soda as well, I think they might enjoy it.
