Went to an interesting sorta trendy-seeming restaurant in London called Belgo, which specializes in Belgian cuisine.

What they also do is specialize in Belgian beers, which I found quite impressive. I'd say they had more than 30 Belgians in bottles available, and the prices were at least reasonable.

I ordered Moules Frites with an Orval, which was delivered perhaps a bit too cold but otherwise well presented in the Orval chalice, and the pairing tasted really good together.

Anyway it was an intriguing concept and something I wish we could see more of here in the states.

It's a chain. Theres a few in London, and there was a Belgo in the East Village in NYC a couple of years ago. Sadly it went bust :(
I had draft Rodenbach and Moules Frites there in early 2001.
I blame Bourdain for putting everyone in NYC off of their mussels.

There are still a couple of similar restos in NYC (cafe bruxelles is a good one, de markt is nearby but not as good - run by the evil interbrew so it's all leffe, hooegarden and stella - vol de nuit in lower manhattan is also pretty good).

Here in DC we have to go a bit further - there is the mannequin pis in olney and belgian gormande all the way out in occoquan (sp?) both a bit of a drive.
