Does anyone have access to Alesmith Brewing Co. beer for a possible trade? I'm in a suburb of Portland, Oregon. I am able to get a huge variety of NW beer. Thanks, Bill

I have tried a few of the Stone beers. Damn good!
I can get all of the Hopjack you want, no problem. I can also get just about anything from Deschutes, Rogue, Full Sail, Bridgeport and many of Northwest brewers.
I'd love to do a trade, just let me know what you want. I'll find out what I can get for ya.
I'm not too sure what from Alesmith comes in bottles, but I'll take another look at their webpage.
Let me know when your headed that way and we will set somthing up.
Thanks and cheers,
Bill Atkins

wasn't planning on going out there anytime soon but visiting the alesmith would be a good excuse! BevMo.com would be a good place to get stone brew if you were interested, im not sure anyone carries alesmith though. i can do that however.

Victory Hopdevil and Dogfish Head 90min. IPA are very similar. Hopdevil is not as strong but more hoppy. What other styles do you like?

victory hopdevil and the dogfish head 90min. sounds like a winner to me. i've heard they were both damn good.

Hopdevil and 90 min. are both great beers. You'll love 90 min.! I have yet to see 120 min. out here. Have you had that, PaBobcat? If so, how does it compare to 90?

I have not had the 120 yet! I'm heading down to Philadelphia in May and hopefully I'll be able to pick up some! I'm not so sure the
"MONOLITH" wasn't just an April fools joke maybe not?
Cheers

i was thinking the same thing myself , 4-1-03 was the release date and no one has it. they were prettty consistant with the #17 you'd think they'ed have released it on the 17th of something, not april fools day. you're probably right. im going to try to get one of thier big wigs on the phone and find out. so i can quit looking like a jack ass over here:eek: ha

I haven't had any of the Stone Brewery offerings, but I LOVE their attitude! I gotta get me one of the shirts. They definitely have a marketing department...

My interest at Alesmith are :

AleSmith IPA
Horny Devil
Old Numbskull
J.P. Gray's Wee Heavy
Grand Cru
Speedway Stout

That is the order of preference although I will take any. I will send you equal value of what ever you get in hop devil and 90min. and anything else you might like that I can get!

Cheers!

okay fellows this is how it works i went down to get the brew and they only had one bottle of hornydevil so i picked it up . looks like it's been up there on the shelf forever too (thats good though it's supposed to be aged 6-24 months before you open it) he said he'll get more in seven to 10 days, unless i make it down to san diego before then. so batkins has dibbs on the bottle i also picked up two i.p.a.s'. batkins ; i know you wanted two of each so i'll throw in either a vertical epic 03-03-03 (i'm a stone junky) or a 6th aniversary porter that's been kept in cold storage sence 08/02 very , very tastey this is arrogant bastard meets guiness, there will never be anything like it again! i got 9 bottles left i opened one last month a beautiful , beautiful thang! but i'll throw one in for ya if you like? they didn't have stumbling monk or any thing else , not a big alesmith selection there. pabobcat ; you'r going to have to wait a little longer then i had expected , maybe another week or two ,but i am very interested in making a trade with you as well, so please don't write me off .

thnx scott

I knew I should never have moved from southern Oregon, I'd be sitting about midway between the two of you and could probably get my hands on both...:D

Oh well, I guess I'll just have to see how my batch of IPA turns out, should know in a week.

yha that'd be great! i've not tried it yet , i'll throw in a 6th aniversary porter or an epic 03-03-03 for ya too if ya like. do you like barley wine? stone makes the old guardin (good for the cellar) i don't have much of a taste for barley wine , but this stuff wasn't too bad. i know a place that has a few left i could pick one up for you if you're in to that sort of stuff? i was going to pick up a couple for myself and maybe trade them off in a couple of years or something....let me know, oh hey i got a few six packs of sierra nevada celibration 2002 too, well let me know ,batkins you too.

The porter would be great but I would actually rather you spend all the trade on Alesmith stuff. Other than The aniversary porter I have access to stone beers(probably in my top 3 favorite breweries) but I have no way of getting alesmith!

Thanks!

well i finally got batkins order(mostly filled) sent out. we can start on your's didn't kill two birds with one stone and pick yours up too like i had wanted. between his beer and mine it came to about $75 last week ...... the little ladie wasn't too thrilled about that considering i did about the same the week before just on my self. it's a vicious cycle....but hey you want the good stuff you gotta pay. any way the 750ml bottles from the alesmith are about $10-12 the 22oz run between $3-4 check out their website and lets try to keep it @ around $30-40 . i've never seen a six pack of anything from the alesmith, but i haven't been to the brewery yet either, so let me know and i can work on yours probably take a couple weeks to get it together and out to you. batkins; let me know when it gets there and how you like them.

cheers,
hopjack13

Well, it came out well, if I do say so myself. I was impatient and tried it at the earliest possible time, but I can't recommend that approach. ;) After some aging, it was quite good. There are a couple of things I can do to improve it, but I wanted to start at the very basics first.

If you are overly curious, I have some pics and a blow-by-blow narrative here.

Just letting anyone know that Monolith from Stone is an April Fools joke. Anything offered at that time of year is always a joke. Remember they are double arrogant bastards and they will stop at nothing to pull ones' leg.
