I'm not experienced at this tasting game, but I had to check in on this stuff; it is a French brew listed at 13% ABV!

Brewed in Brasserie Grain D'Orge, Ronchin, France

On the label - a devil-like creature with the caption: Biere "Pur Malt" la plus forte du monde

Pours a orangey copper color, small light head which disappears quickly amid an effervescent fizz.
Aroma is bready; with some yeast present, along with an alchohol vapor and a bit of spice.

The first taste assaults the tongue with an immediate sugary sweetness, followed by a strong spice flavor...nutmeg and cloves, with a bit of brandy...some banana perhaps. It has a definite alchohol burn on the way down (and keeps burning  )

As it warms, the spiciness begins to take over and leaves nothing else apparent in the flavor

Just a bit of bitter bite on the finish with a slight astringent quality.

It reminds me a bit of a Belgian ale that got way out of hand...I'm finding it hard to finish the 8oz bottle.

This is different to be sure, but not something I would buy again.

as good as a beer may be you should be boycotting french products. :)

Yes...you have a good point !!

...but it was nasty, foul, and overly perfumy...indeed french!! :D

Here's my notes on this brew. Not very impressive.

"Nice glowing copper orange colour, but that's where the compliments end. Alcoholic sweet malt aroma with some charred wood notes. After that its just alcohol and sugary sweetness. The alcohol burn as it goes down is giving me indigestion, just like a cheap rum. Leaves a syrupy coating in the mouth. You can't argue with the description on the bottle, but it's just not very pleasant. Bottled (250ml)"
