Yeah, he really gets into it adding the ingredients, and stirring the wort. Before I started kegging, bottling was one of his favourite activities. He would hand me a sanitized bottle off the bottle tree, and pass me a cap, he thought this was great fun!
He usually doesn’t get a sip…my dad gave him a taste once and he didn’t really enjoy it. Instead I put some water in a 500 ml pet bottle and he drinks that.

what about passing him some cooled wort pre he might like that sugary treat. (pre hops I would imagine would be more to a childs liking.)
very cute kid btw.

That's cool, mmmbeer....I have tried many times unsuccessfully to get my 11 year old to help me brew. Has absolutely zero interest right now. Hmmmm...maybe in 5 or 6 years.......

My oldest boy has been helping me since he was about 6 (he is 10). He has even come into the pub to help me when I would make soda.

My 5 and 7 yr old daughters like to help, but the 11 yr old daughter just hates the stink and has no interest in helping. However, I went out and bought a SODA extract kit w/ champagne yeast (and a 2nd bottling bucket, hoses, etc), and they are all over that. Unfortunately, the first batch I made with them never carbonated. Maybe this weekend we'll try it again....

I am brewing a batch today, and will most likely have help from all 4 of my kids(ages 12, 5 1/2, 4, and 2 1/2). Its never too early to get them started in the best hobby you can have! :D
