It's a mystery cask tonight. Brian says a firkin just appeared in his cool box and he's not sure what it is. Might by Dominion Millennium, but who knows.
I love a good mystery.

Ya know it was just one of those nights. It ended up being the Millennium and to be quite honest I wasn't impressed. I think you can't just take a beer that is meant to be served one way and say "oh I guess we'll chuck a few gallons in a firkin" and serve it another. I had this same beer very fresh at the brewery and it was spectacular. It seems in its present forumation it doesn't translate to be served cask. The sweetness and bitterness are way out of balance in large part owing to the serving temperature. Also by the end of the first pint I was feeling a bit loopy. I had a second but I probably shouldn't have.
On the positive front Brian said he'll be getting Harviestoun's Shieheillion, which is one of my faves.

I'll try to do so. Unfortunately many times it's a case of "hey it's here" though sometimes Brian will have an idea if it's in the next couple of weeks. As soon as I know, you will know. Whenever it is I'm taking the next day off of work!

Good idea! I just hope it is not when I am on travel. It is a superb beer.
