Hi all,
been a reader of RealBeer for a bit now, and just yesterday was looking for a forum such as this because I just began homebrewing. I just bottled my first batch last week and have also installed a kegerator tap in my basement fridge. I still need a CO2 tank and keg though.
So a couple questions....
1) How big of a CO2 tank do I need? I plan to have probably nothing larger than a 1/4 barrel in there, but probably will do 1/6 barrels frequently.
2) CO2 storage: Inside the fridge, or outside? I've heard conflicting reports, some based on the size of the tank, which is understandable. What do you do and why? Also, is it better to have the tank upright or laying down?
3a) Corny Kegs... seeing as i really want to get into homebrewing I'd much prefer to use a keg than bottle. This allows me to have my brew on tap and from what I have read about flash carbonation with CO2 this sounds like the way to go (less waiting!)
3b) Where can I get a Corny Keg and what should I look for/replace when buying them?
4) Anything else you're willing to share!
Thanks a bunch... i look forward to being an active member of this forum!
