Here is another DC / VA related event that i would like to pass along some info. on:
Forwarding this (edited) e-mail from Smokehouse Winery because 1) I know =
there are a few mead enthusiasts on this list, and 2) this winemaker has =
been known to make and stock bottles of braggot (half honey, half malt) =
for sale.
http://www.smokehousewinery.com/, near Sperryville, Va.
"Join us at the Smokehouse next weekend (Feb. 28-29,12-6) for a belated =
Imbolc celebration. Although technically, celtic Imbolc is more toward =
the start of Feb. rather than end. Schedule considerations etc. make =
this the weekend we have come to celebrate it (feels more like the 1st =
of spring as well).
Meads will include our Traditional as well as Currant Meads and a =
surprise from the cellar. Unique local muchies will be available as =
well. On the music scene we have Ben Masons colorful keyboards and =
songwriting on sat and piedmont blues guitarist Eric Freeman playing =
authentic Rappahannock blues on sun. We also will unofficially be 'open' =
at the dulcimer museum as well, meaning I will play a couple songs each =
day and will have a dozen or so instruments on display (Official opening =
will be an event later this spring). A couple of other reknown local =
musicians are possible show-ups as well (strongarm tactic). Possible =
bonfire Sat. evening depending upon weather/mood etc. Cost is $10 per =
person. Hope to see some of you out in this neck of the county then
