Has anyone tried SA's latest release, Chocolate Bock?
Had one last week(750 ml bottle, $15.39 retail) and wasn't overly impressed.
Cellaring might help.

Enjoyed a 4 oz. sample at Extreme Beer Fest in January. Nice enough beer. Rich, smooth chocolate, yet dry finish. Enjoyed it but have not been rushing to scoop up $15 bottles at the local liquor store - and by the looks of the stock on the shelf, not many people have.
Cheers!

I'm pretty sure it's pasteurized, so cellaring would do no good.

Doesn't surprise me. I've seen worse stuff selling for more on ebay. For me, it's more trouble than it's worth to make $10-15. Cuts into the beer drinking time, y'know :D
Cheers!

Just bought a bottle today(13.49). I will drink it tomorrow morning with a friend before the bock beer festival at August Schell brewery.I should probably be drinking Schell's, but I thought I'd try it out . I wonder if it will go good with the goat cheese I'll be eating. Probably not.

These prices all seem a little extreme. I haven't tried it yet, but my local pub has it for $14.00 a bottle, and I know that they have to be making a profit. I just can't see spending that much for a SA product!

I've seen it in stores for $15 around here.
