Here is a news item I found:

Feb 12, 2004,

Dogfish Head is proud to announce an important addition to our
management team. Andy Tveekrem, formerly of Fredrick Brewery, will begin
his new job as Production Manager for Dogfish Head on March 1st. John
Gillooly, our current Production Manager, will be moving his family back to
the west coast. "John has done an amazing job of helping Dogfish Head to
grow these past few years" , says brewery president Sam Calagione, "He was
unflappable through a period of crazy growth. We wish him luck and success
in the future."
Before moving to Fredrick Brewery, Andy Tveekrem was the Brewmaster
at Great Lakes Brewery in Cleveland. "Andy was at the helm of both Fredrick
and Great Lakes during periods of rapid production expansion. He makes great
beer and he runs a tight ship. I am very confident that Andy has the skills
to keep production at our brewery moving forward". Says Sam.
"I'm really looking forward to working with everyone at Dogfish
Head. Through the talents and dedication of their staff, the brewery has
already earned an excellent reputation for brewing innovative, inspiring
beer. Hopefully, my own experience can combine with that and bring us to
new levels of productivity and creativity."
Andy joins lead brewery Bryan Selders, brewer Kent Templeton,
cellarman Andrew Rowe, and Q.C. manager Kevin Sondey in production.
Calagione adds "We are very fortunate to have this team in place. They are
kind of like the x-men of brewing. They have mutated into a devastating
ale-making force that will continue to fight against the evil empire of
carbohydrate-sensative superfreaks."

Interesting.

My wife and I were out at DFH this past weekend. We're both of the opinion that the Raison D'Etre has changed and not for the better. It seems to be thinner and more vinous that I can remember from the past.

I did sample the Snowblower (ok, not great) and the Au Courant (quite tasty, nice bit of fruit).

It seems to me the recent shakeups have the brewing a little bit unsteady.

You were out in Rehobeth? My wife and I are in the process of purchasing a 3 BR condo (new construction) just down the road in OC. In fact I'll be out that way this weekend. I have to say that Andy T. did a wonderful job with the Great Lakes beers.

Her folks have a place in OC (just over the line from Fenwick Isl.). Talk about small world.
