i just brewed my first batch yesterday and i live in arizona so out here you cant just use tap water for anything (it even makes kool-aid taste like shit):) so when i went to the store to get water i couldnt decide which kind of water to get so i just got distilled anyone got any preference on what kind of water they use? i have an extra carboy so im gonna brew up some more next friday (he he constant flow of homebrew...mmmm homebrew)

I would go with the cheapest, clean water you can find. otherwise you could be adding a significant amount to the overall cost of your beer.
You're going to boil it anyway, so any acceptably clean water should be fine.

When making extract, all that was removed was water. By replacing it with DI, you return it to exactly what it was.
That is all I ever used. When you start using grain, you will
need the salts that are in tap water.
