This is from brewersdiscount.com

"5 Gallon Mega Mobile Party Keg Contains chrome faucet with long knob, coupling adaptor and nut, gas and liquid MFL quick disconnect, 5 gallon ball lock keg, Innovation System CO2 charger with five CO2 refills" Price $61.50

I was considering purchasing this and jumping into kegging. My thinking is to fully carbonate in the keg and then hopefully the small co2 cartridge would push out the beer.

I will need to fully carbonate in the keg since the small co2 cartridge will not force carbonate the 5 gallons of beer; correct?

My thinking is that this is an alternative to the Tap-a-Draft system and it would get me closer to an all inclusive kegging set up.

Thoughts anyone?

Looks like it is a kegging setup, but missing the CO2 tank and regulator. Yes, you will likely have more luck with natural carbonation then trying to do force carb with the cartridges. I suspect you will need two or three cartridges per keg just to server it.

It looks like a good setup if you can't afford the tank and regulator yet, because all of the equipment is reusable later on. You may want to keep the cartridges around for serving kegs at a tailgate party or something.

If you want to go even cheaper, look for a cobra picnic faucet instead of the chrome faucet.

How are you going to keep the keg cold?

We need a new fridge in the kitchen due to age. The old one works fine but what wife wants wife gets.

My good fortune is that I can put the old fridge on the front porch for beer.
