Hey Folks-

I have recently switched to All Grain, and have had all but my first batch hit the Estimated OG right on the nose. The suttleness in flavor difference amazes me.

I do have a simple Wit based Raspberry Ale I'm working on. I used 5 Lbs each 2 row pale and Wheat malt, my OG was 1.054

I Intend to add several Lbs of frozen raspberries when I rack it to the secondary on Sunday, it's 8th day in the primary with White Labs Belgian Ale yeast. I can't seem to find anything on how much the fruit will contribute in additional sugars.....Any suggestions?

im sure there is someone who will have an approximation on what it could add, however you will never really know unless you had a meter that could read the sugar level in the fruit. each year there will be a diferent level in the fruit. If you want to know for sure you can use concentrate where it is already labeled.

Thanks Tweek.....I just got some answers from our friends at More Beer, who have informed me that the averages are 10-23-13 & 13 Brix for Raspberrie, Cherries, Blackberries & blue berries respectivly....

See Ya!

I made a raspberry wheat a while back and the raspberries added enough fuel to the fire that even though I added after 5 days in the primary, I had to reinstall the blowoff tube for another day....
