Hi Guys,

Just posting some pics of a Pale Ale (PIC 1 (http://fox302.com/index.pl?s=vf&user=YamahaXS&category=Pale_Ale&file=PaleAlewithbottles.jpg), PIC 2 (http://fox302.com/userdata/YamahaXS/files/Pale_Ale/PaleAlewith.3ltrbottle.jpg) ) I started drinking tonight. Its another great HomeBrew (aren't they all?) and I its the first time I have used the bottles which are probably 15 years old + and are from France. Unusual 1/3 liter size.

Recipe
-------------------------------------------------------
1 # crushed dextrine Malt (lightest i could get)
7 # Extra Light DME
1 cup Brown Sugar
1/3 oz Burton Water Salts (about 2 teaspons)
2 oz Cascade pellets (about 12.5 HBU)
1 plug Goldings- for dry hopping (left in carboy for 7 days)
ESB London Ale Yeast from Wyeast Labs (Pitchable tube)

put crushed malt in a grain bag, submerged in 2 gal cold h2o.
Brought to a boil, removed bag and squeezed juice out, rinsed through w 4 cups cold h2o. Add grain juice and rinsings into wort.

Turned off burner, added DME, brown sugar, and water salts. Brought to a boil

Added Cascade hops.

Boiled for another 30 minutes.

Chilled down to 80 F and pitched yeast.

OG 1.055 @ 80 F

Day 4: Racked to carboy

Day 15: Added Goldings

Day 22: Bottled

Day 32: Drank and posted this message slightly fuzzing headed. :D

Those are some cool pics!! I have been thinking about doing that myself. Your beers looked great! The bottles are super cool. I am getting a decent collection of Grolsch / EZ cap bottles in several different colors. I really like them.

We bottled a Corona Clone today, even the green beer tasted better than the real thing. My wife likes lighter beer and I refuse to make an american beer clone.
We have an apricot wheat going right now that smells fantastic.

I wish I had a better place to do my beer stuff, I have to just find room in the house, but it works out just fine.

thanks Paul84043! Hey if you live in Madison you can come brew at my place! heheh of course some of your beer might turn up missing.

The funny thing about those bottles in the pics, is that I bought them at a furniture store. HAHAHA. they were part of "the ambiance" for a display. I think I paid 20$ for the case. A little high, but since they are only about 10 oz.s it makes the beer last a little longer on poker night. :D

20$ for a case of 24 EZ cap's is a good deal around here! I can find used Grolsch bottles for 1$ each or new ones for 1.75$, but they are few and far between and they vanish in a big hurry when they pop up!

The unusual size is really cool. Take care of them!

I live in Utah and one really nice thing about living in the holy land is that I could leave a case of good beer sitting on the porch for a week, and nobody would touch it!

The downside is that it's very difficult to find fellow beer drinkers to enjoy a good homebrew with.

Well you might be able to leave a case of beer alone on the back porch, but you have to watch your daughters so some loon doesn't decide to "marry" them.

I choose locking up my beer over locking up my daughters!

I guarantee that they'd be bringing my daughter back in under 24 hrs, probably begging me to take her back!
Hmmmm... maybe I could even get them to pay me to take her back?

Ahh... the joys of beer.

Had some friends over yesterday, and we grilled some burgers and had a nice salad out on the picnic table. Of course we washed it all down with some of the Pale Ale, which I am now referring to as a Pale Bitter. It was a great day, weather was beautiful, food was good, friends were most agreeable, and the beer was great.

Cheers and beers to Spring!

Now, THAT'S what I'm looking forward to!

We had a great weekend as well, but the beer storage has been ravaged due to lack of supply!

I did manage to squeeze in an hour in the hot tub with the wife while sipping on a Balck and Tan.

One thing I love about spring, no flies yet....
