I was just reading on a kegerator website that their particular product only held the "normal" 15.5 Gallon Drummond kegs. Are there any popular (or particularly good) brands that come in anything larger than this 15.5 gallon keg? In other words, are there any beers that I would not be able to dispense from a kegerator of this size?

Thanks for any help!

A 15.5 gallon keg is about the biggest you'll find. Occasionally, you might find a converted hoff-stevens or golden gate into a sankey style keg, but it should still fit. The only difference is it's a little bigger around. Other than that, you might come across some 50 liter kegs, but they're smaller than the 15.5.

I don't know what the "drummond" kegs are, but I've gotten kegs from local micros that are very fat (bigger diameter than normal) and they barely squeeze into my kegerator. One time I had to tie it shut with bungee cords because the door kept popping open. They do fit though...

Depends on the manufacturer of the kegs. As pointed out, there are Hoff-Stevens (bung in the side) that are converted to Sanke as well as all the various manufacturers of American Straight Sided Sankes. On some the chimb is the only difference, but it can be a big one when trying to squeeze one into a fridge. The chimb is the ring welded onto the bottom and top of the keg.

This question comes from investigating my kegerator options. The dispenser in question is from Neatbrewingideas.com. They mention the max size as being the previously mentioned 15.5 gal Drummond keg.

Has anyone purchased anything from this company? Good feedback or experiences?

I don't want to run into a situation where I need to upgrade to a larger kegerator.

Thanks!

If you're looking for a relatively inexpensive kegerator, check out www.frysoutpost.com of www.costco.com. They have kegerators that will fit straight sided sankey kegs up to 1/2 bbl. for around $500.00 plus shipping. From the description of drummond kegs, it sounds like they are pretty much just a straight sided sankey keg, anyway.
