Anybody seen a fermentation go that quickley. Based on the apparent attenuation of 75% for the Wyeast 1084, I was targeting a final gravity of 1.018.
I was not planning to rack to a secondary until next tuesday.
Do you think that will be too long?

It happens, from time to time. My winterfest ale did a very similar thing. It formed a half-foot of krausen in the primary bucket at its most active point.

I don't think that will be too long. 1.020 is still a bit on the high side. Check yout gravity in another day or so and see if that comes down any. If it stays at its current reading then rack. I have had some higher gravity brews finish at 1.020 or a little higher.

I had a black and Tan go from 1.04(something) to 1.006 in two days once....it happens, just count yourself lucky and don't hold your breath for it to happen again soon!!
I would wait the amount of time you had planned and keep taking readings every couple of days. There's no downside to waiting, it's not like there's a race to get it off the trub, a week is really good. I have had them sit in primary for up to three weeks before. (I wasn't happy about it, it was just a very slow fermenting beer) but it turned out just fine.
