Fermentor Idea

I wanted to get some oppinions on this idea of making a fermentor out of an empty 5 gallon office water Bottle . It has the Spout at the bottom if I turn it over . Add a Spout on the Side , a Whole on top for the Airlock . Could this work ? I 'm thinking the plastic water Bottle is Not the right Grade for fermenting ?

That would work physically. however the grade of plastic that those types of bottles are made out of may be too porus and could lead to oxygenation of your beer, I dont know that for a fact but that would be my guess. At the point that you are willing to go through that kind of trouble I would strongly reccomend getting a glass carboy. There is a diference in quality all beit a slight one between glass and plastic.
