View Full Version : There's a cockroach in my cask

I just rinsed my cask out tonight and replaced the water, and a cockroach fell out. I know there's none in my apartment, and anyway, the cask has been sealed, which means it got in when the cask was made (how is what I want to know - it's a 3/4" opening).

I'm not sure how much I like the thought of a roach rotting in my water-filled cask for the past week and soaking into the pores of the wood. Can anyone think of any problems I'll have that sanitizing won't take care of?

Ahh, he won't hurt nothing. Just sanitize as usual and you'll forget he was ever there. People don't seem to mind the worm in the tequila bottle. It's kinda the same thing!!

Consider it extra protein, it is good for head retention. :D

Ha! That got me laughing TMG!

It's a Scottish ale - maybe I'll call it Scotroach?

Either way, the beer goes in tonight. :D
