Thanks to batkins, I'm tasting a wonderful beer right now. Here's my notes:

Big, hearty aroma of roasted dark and chocolate malt, alcohol and hops. Color is very very dark, but not quite opaque. Good carbonation with a tight, tight tan head that almost looks as if it was poured from a nitro tap! Clings to the side of the glass! Flavor profile is big and malty! Lots of roasted malt bitterness up front, followed by a smooth creaminess that balances it out nicely. A little smoke in the middle, but not huge, but that's ok. Big body and mouthfeel. Coats the mouth. Finish is slightly hoppy and a little warming. Some wood notes in the finish as well which are very nice. This is a well made beer!

Thanks again, batkins!

sounds fantastic-- me thinks its time to call on my brother in LA and have him pick up some stone to ship out. i brought back a ruination ipa and an arrogant bastard from over the holidays which i drank in the last week and want more, especially the arrogant bastard. there are plenty of excellent ipa's i can choose from, but arrogant bastard is just yummy. how do you guys categorize that beer? an old ale maybe? anyway, this porter sounds awesome too. if its got big body i bet i'd like it. the thing i hate most about some porters is a really watery body.

No problem davesarman! Always happy to trade with ya!
Glad you liked it.
I'm damn near giddy over here..... I went to Seattle last week, made it into Bottleworks. Couldn't believe it when I found '99 and '00 Rogue Old Crustacean, as well as '99 and '00 Full Sail Old Boardhead.
Life is good!
Cheers,
Bill
